Our technique is bright, colourful and eye catching. We developed this technique over almost twenty years. Consequently, even the most regular of objects, like a menu, is a work of art. Furthermore, the client’s logo pops as well. The use of shading and highlights makes our approach stand out.

Chalkboard Sign Framing
We hand craft the frames for each chalkboard. Our in-house framer uses 2.25″ or 1.5″ x 3/4″ vertical grain west coast fir with a mortise and tenon joining. As a result you get a strong, clean, commercial quality frame. After that we use waterproof glues. The sign is inserted into a 3/8″ groove cut into the frame to add stiffness and durability. Sometimes, on larger chalkboards more rigidity is required. Subsequently, we can add a 1/4″ backing board or corner brackets. Fir will slowly age in color to a reddish brown tan. The fir is collected from local forests. It is kiln dried and milled nearby on Vancouver, Island.
